Miami Yacht Venues

A yacht venue in Miami is a vessel booked the way you book a ballroom: certified by the Coast Guard for your guest count, with a deck plan for a ceremony, a seated dinner, a bar and a dance floor, and the choice to cruise, stay at the dock or both. Private yachts host up to 13; event yachts such as Opus 1 host up to 300.

Miami Yacht Parties

Booking a venue, not a boat

When the event comes first, the question changes from “which boat” to “which room”: where guests board and gather, where the bar and the food stand, where the speeches and the first dance happen, and whether the vessel is certified to carry everyone. A private yacht runs as an uninspected vessel and stops at thirteen guests; above that, the venue is an inspected passenger vessel whose Certificate of Inspection sets the headcount, the crew and the safety equipment. The occasions themselves, from birthdays to weddings, are planned on Miami yacht parties.

Choose by guest count

  • Up to 13: a private yacht as an intimate venue, a dinner, an elopement or a proposal, from the fleet on every yacht rental in Miami.
  • 20 to 80: inspected event boats and yachts with an indoor lounge, a bar and catering space.
  • 100 to 300 and more: multi-deck event ships for galas, conferences and receptions.

The sizes in between are compared on large group yacht charters in Miami.

Opus 1, the flagship venue

Opus 1 Miami is a 120 ft, three-level event yacht operated as Opus by Feeling Yachty, with two climate-controlled salons behind floor-to-ceiling windows, an open-air sky deck for a ceremony or dancing, a full-service bar and professional sound, lighting and staging, for up to 300 guests under her certificate. She is priced by custom proposal, with the venue, the yacht and the standard charter fees packaged and only the crew gratuity outside it; the details are on Opus 1 Miami.

Cruise, dockside or both

A venue yacht can cruise the skyline, Star Island and Biscayne Bay; stay at the dock, which suits speeches, AV and a step-and-repeat; or do both, boarding at the slip for welcome drinks, cruising at sunset and returning for dinner and dancing. A dockside event keeps the room steady for a program and makes vendor load-in simple. The venue built for that is The Vessel Miami, a two-level floating platform for up to 150 guests that stays moored, with two bars and a catering staging area.

Layouts, vendors and permits

The deck plan is set to the event: rows for a ceremony, rounds or long tables for a plated dinner, stations and high-tops for a cocktail reception, a stage for a DJ or band. A seated dinner takes fewer guests than a standing reception on the same vessel, and the certificate number is the ceiling, not the target. Many event yachts have their own caterer and licensed bar with per-person minimums; others accept outside caterers, florists and DJs with proof of insurance. Some marinas require dockage permits and security, which the team arranges, and timelines, load-in routes and deck diagrams go to every vendor before the day. For guests with mobility needs, ask early: ramps and elevators exist on some vessels and not on others.

Booking a yacht venue

Send the date or a window, the start time, the headcount, the format, cruise or dockside, a budget and the services you need. The team replies with two to four vessels that fit, holds the one you choose and sends a written proposal and agreement; the run-of-show, the boarding instructions and the vendor timings follow the deposit. Weekend and holiday dates book four to eight weeks ahead or more.

Questions

Yacht venue questions

What is the largest yacht venue in Miami?
Multi-deck event ships carry 150 to 300 guests and select venues more; Opus 1 hosts up to 300, depending on the layout.
Can the event stay at the dock?
Yes. Many venue yachts host dockside events or a mix, boarding at the slip, cruising for the sunset and returning for dinner.
Can we bring our own caterer and DJ?
On many vessels, with proof of insurance. Others use their own caterer and licensed bar; the proposal says which.
How is a yacht venue priced?
By the vessel, the date, the hours and the headcount, often with per-person catering and bar minimums. The yacht side is quoted together, the crew gratuity apart.
How many guests fit on a private yacht?
Thirteen, whatever its length. Past thirteen the venue must be an inspected passenger vessel.
Is there a floating venue that does not need to cruise?
Yes: The Vessel Miami, a two-level floating platform certified for 150 guests with two bars, a catering staging area and event sound, booked as a moored venue with guests arriving and leaving during the event, and quoted per event like the ships.
How much does a yacht venue in Miami cost?
A private yacht for up to 13 starts at $650 for three hours with captain, crew and fuel; an event yacht or floating venue for 20 to 300 is quoted per event, as one proposal with catering, bar, decor and entertainment on their own lines.
